Last week I was on holiday in Thailand at a hotel in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand) for 4 days with my wife.
We’d been down to breakfast quite early and Simone said she wanted an hour’s nap before heading out to see the local area. I was a little tired but had slept well, and so I didn’t really want to sleep.
I’d heard that both Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming recordings are most potent when listened to in the morning after waking up.
I hadn’t been up that long, so figured I’d test out my Ennora Astral Projection recording while my wife slept for a while.
I whacked on my iPod and lay back on the bed. A few minutes passed as my mind wandered, and not much was happening except the usual thoughts of yesterday, work and the kids.
Then, at about 4 minutes in, I began to enter a semi-dream state. I was still awake in the sense that if someone had said my name I would have come round quickly, but I was experiencing visions of another realm.
It’s hard to say exactly, but at about 7 minutes I started seeing colors: fiery colors like red and yellow swirling around in the sky. I then began to see myself walking. I felt like I was on a journey with lots going on around me.
It wasn’t scary, in fact quite calming and happy. It could be likened to walking through a fun fair with an Alice in Wonderland theme.
There were performers, animals being led by people – like horses and cows – and intermittently colorful designs would appear on spinning wheels and obscure formations would morph into the background as they passed by. I wasn’t on the ground but not in the sky, either; it was a weird sensation of being in another realm.
I presume this is what is referred to as a trip on the Astral Plane. And it was certainly a trip, but not an uncomfortable or controllable one. It was like having a catnap where you’re resting but not quite asleep, but yet still experiencing a dream.
One thing I did notice was that the recording began to pull me into this realm when the echo-like sounds that pan from left to right in different areas of the soundscape appeared.
That said, the entire recording is suggestively trippy, and I guess with my already being very relaxed and a little sleepy, this helped. I was also on holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – which no doubt added to the effect.
I woke up calm and happy and felt very relaxed and peaceful. It left me with a natural high that lasted around 5 hours. I will be listening to this again in similar circumstances very soon.
